OUR STORY
FROM HURRICANE KATRINA TO UNITY AND EMPOWERMENT
The LeBlanc Foundation 501c(3) embarked on its journey in 2020, rooted in profound gratitude for the unwavering support and hope provided by the Fort Novosel community and the Wiregrass area during the devastating Hurricane Katrina. We were a family caught in the unimaginable turmoil – our beloved city submerged, our homes lost, and our futures uncertain. Forced to evacuate New Orleans, we left behind all that couldn't be carried.
In the midst of chaos and displacement, 30 members of our family found solace in Fort Novosel, Alabama, a decision that would forever shape our lives. Despite the considerable distance from New Orleans to Fort Novosel, the Fort Novosel command's commitment to sustaining multiple families never wavered. They provided us with temporary shelter, food, clothing, finances, and spiritual support. The surrounding communities of the Wiregrass region rallied to bring back a sense of normalcy to our lives.
OUR FAITH UNITED US, AND WE TURNED TO THE WORDS OF PHILIPPIANS 4:13, WHICH ASSURED US THAT WE COULD DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENED US. FORT NOVOSEL AND THE WIREGRASS COMMUNITY BECAME VESSELS OF HOPE WHEN IT MATTERED MOST.
This profound experience served as a catalyst, motivating us to launch an organizational platform that goes beyond showing gratitude to Fort Novosel and the Wiregrass area. The idea emerged not only to empower underserved communities but to bridge cultural diversity and nurture a spirit of unity.
Years of prayer and community organizing, both in Louisiana and the Wiregrass area, have led to a momentous announcement. The LeBlanc Family Foundation is thrilled to unite people from diverse backgrounds and traditions. We stand committed to celebrating cultural diversity and empowering communities by cultivating grassroots programs that create unity and celebrate the rich cultural diversity. Our vision is to create a community that knows no borders and shines with the beauty of unity.
